This is a phenomenon department which teaches practical computer education. Advancing from LOGO and Paint, graded practical training is given for each standard. The upper most class is taught C, C++. Although the department has many able teachers time table is a major setback in teaching more in computer. Yet, Students familiarize Complete windows package at each standard. The computer lab has more than twenty computers, colour, mono and xerox printers.

This is one of the prestigious departments of this school. Bundle of medals and cups are brought by the Athletes of this school every year. The athletes are well known in this region for their rigorous skill promotion. This school has been the champion almost every year in Zonal level Republic Day sports conducted by the department of school education. A handful awards in District level sports is also gained by the sports students of this school. A great valour is shown by the Athletes of this school in World Beaters Talent hunt sports for under 14 at district and divisional levels. This is the only school getting the highest number of Sports scholarship of Rs. 6000/- per student in Nagappattinam district. More than a dozen Athlete win this scholarship since the scheme started in the nation. And, once this school was one of the champions of Volley ball in the district. But, after the introduction of Higher Secondary course, much focus is not given for tournaments because higher secondary is such a course to decide students’ career. Yet, every boy of this school should be known of Volley ball where as every girl needs to learn Throw ball. It is clear and sure that students grow both their mental and physical abilities in this premises. Varieties of games, sports, mind games and fun games are taught to primary and upper primary students. Performing Lazeem, and Tumbles in groups are the highlights of the sports department. This school has been the pioneer of sports and games in this region for more than twenty years following the footstep Thavasumuthu Nadar’s Higher Secondary school of this town which was once the upfront champion of this region. Minimum two teachers for boys and girls categories each are working in the department. It is one of the prides of this school that the athletes of Sharmila Goddess are the all rounders in sports like running, long/high jumps /throw events. They are very good in Relay race.
